Just had a miscarriage/chemical pregnancy. Any stats on getting pregnant after a miscarriage? We’ve been trying for a few months and this was our first positive test, so it was very disappointing.

Your chances of getting pregnant again and carrying to term are very good. Having gotten pregnant once is a good sign of your ability to conceive, and the vast majority of people who miscarry go on to have children. We can also turn this around: in large samples of women who have at least one living child, 20% of them have had at least one miscarriage.

For an early miscarriage, the cause in nearly all cases is a chromosomal abnormality. It is really important to say: this is not the fault of something you did. After a chemical pregnancy, you can try again as soon as you feel emotionally and physically ready. Good luck to you.
