How bad is standard antiperspirant for you, really? Is it okay during pregnancy?

—Anonymous

The worry with antiperspirants is that many of them contain aluminum, and people are concerned that excessive amounts of aluminum in your system could somehow affect the fetus. In practice, relatively little aluminum is absorbed through skin, probably less than you get in your food. If you want to switch to a non-aluminum-containing antiperspirant, go for it. But I wouldn’t spend a lot of emotional energy on this.
