How much caffeine is considered safe during pregnancy?

When you look at the most reliable data, there is no link between low to moderate caffeine consumption (up to about four cups of coffee, or 400 mg of caffeine, per day) and miscarriage. At higher levels than that, the data is harder to be fully confident in — it seems like there may be a link, but it also may be driven by other factors. It is worth noting that nearly all official bodies (ACOG, WHO) suggest that some caffeine is fine in moderation.
