We’ve been loving sheet pan gnocchi! Gnocchi and summer veggies tossed in olive oil and seasoning. Add some sort of cheese and a meat if you want (my go to is bacon) and throw in the oven. Love it! Works great for my one year old.
Thank you so much for writing this book!! Looking forward to reading it soon. My question is- does the book go into detail about how to prevent certain complications moving forward? I had gestational hypertension and postpartum hemorrhage and would love to know if I could decrease my risk for either of those with the next pregnancy. Thank you again!!
This really resonated with me!! I had this image in my head of what pregnancy and postpartum would look like for me but my actual experience was totally different. I gained more weight than was recommended and had a really tough time working out and then had to be induced at 37 weeks for gestational hypertension. I still struggle with feelings of inadequacy-like I somehow caused the hypertension by gaining extra weight and not working out? Ridiculous thought but it still creeps in. Glad to hear someone else went through this as well!
Hearing “this just sucks right now” and “it is what it is” were ironically pretty helpful. Just acknowledgment that the time period was difficult and I was allowed to be “crazy” or allowed to be a bitch was pretty powerful. It’s all about surviving in that first few months.
I would love to hear more about the data around family dinners. I’m convinced it’s great for kids and families but when should it start? Our usual routine is to eat dinner after our LO (6 month) goes to bed so I’m wondering if it’s worth disrupting the routine to include him in dinner when we start solids soon. Thanks!
To echo what most have said, I think the best way to offer advice is to wait for them to bring it up to you, as in complaining about it, and then asking if they want advice. If they say yes, I would just keep it simple and direct. Also, I think it’s great that you yourself are open to suggestions and figuring out the best way to navigate this!
