Everyone’s path to parenthood is unique. Wherever you are in the process of trying to conceive and building a family, there are important decisions to make — and data can help.

That’s why I’m so excited that today we’re launching a section of ParentData on trying to conceive (TTC). Whether you are beginning your TTC journey, navigating fertility treatments like IVF and IUI, or building a family with donors, surrogacy, or adoption, you can trust that we’re backed by the latest research to help guide your next steps.

Where do I begin?

Here are three ways that you can start to explore TTC on ParentData:

  • First, we’ve launched a new section of ParentData.org dedicated to trying to conceive, including articles on understanding your ovulation window, the two-week wait, pregnancy tests, and miscarriage. You’ll also find information related to infertility, egg freezing, and LGBTQ+ conception.
  • Second, we’re starting a weekly newsletter for anyone navigating fertility treatments or family planning with donor sperm or eggs. This is meant for people who are looking for information to guide their medical decisions. Each week starting on February 25, we’ll cover the latest research and headlines, share 101-level guides, and answer reader questions.
  • Finally, you can always go to Petey (formerly known as Dewey) for on-demand answers to your questions. Petey is powered by AI and can reference all of our articles for a quick response to your fertility and family planning questions.

Thanks to our sponsor Ro, you can access the TTC newsletter and all of our TTC articles on ParentData.org for free until April 18.

As a paid subscriber, you can start to explore the articles right now and opt in to the newsletter on your Account page.

Why TTC?

This has been a long time coming. I’ve been writing about pregnancy and parenting for the past decade. Over that time, so many of you have written to me looking for good, unbiased, science-based information to help you understand your experiences with infertility, IUI and IVF, and family planning.

I didn’t have a great place to point you, so we decided to build it ourselves at ParentData. We found experts, reviewed data, created articles, and now we’re ready to share it all with you.

I’m especially happy we can bring this to you because fertility is one of those gray areas where we often lack data and clear guidance, and it can feel overwhelming, disorienting, and isolating. Having solid data to turn to cannot fix all of these issues, but I hope it can help.

What’s next?

I’m hosting a roundtable discussion this Monday, February 24, at 1:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. PT with three incredible ParentData contributors who have years of experience supporting people on their TTC journey: Dr. Breonna Slocum (reproductive endocrinologist and fertility specialist), Marea Goodman (licensed midwife supporting the LGBTQ+ community), and Dr. Pooja Lakshmin (perinatal psychiatrist). Sign up here if you’d like to join us live or watch a recording.

More than anything, I hope you’ll let us know what you think. If you don’t see what you’re looking for on TTC, let us know! We’ll grow this over time and need your input to make it valuable to you and all of our future readers.

Thanks for being here,

Emily
